Past Shows

We decided to start live streaming our Saturday Morning Music events on YouTube so that anyone who couldn't make it in person could still see the show.  We hope it's an enjoyable watch.  Importantly, our performers have the final say as to whether or not their performances are published here.  Below are some of the past shows - we'll try and add some more as we go along.

Jo & Graham 30th November 2024

Popular West Sussex vocal/guitar due Jo & Graham are back at the UGT this Saturday morning with an eclectic mix of popular folk and country music.  A jolly, intimate morning of music with plenty of chat, (well from Jo at least) and frivolity.

The Twagger Band 23rd November 2024

An amazing array of instruments including concertinas, dulcimers, harp, bagpipes, fiddle, whistles, accordion, recorders, guitar, crumhorn and serpent. Superb musicians, Derrick Hughes, Sue Evans, Ian Chisholm, Joy Lewis, Keith Phillips and Tom Evans assure us a delightful morning of entertainment.

The Keith Willson Band 2nd November 2024

Highly accomplished musician, the kinetic Keith Willson (Vocals/keyboard/guitar) returns with a morning of some powerful and well-loved songs.  Keith will be joined by some of our favourite guest musicians.

Saturday Morning Music 19th October  2024 - Con Brio

Con Brio are back this Saturday morning.  Styled as ‘instrument-swapping and genre-hopping’ popular Con Brio play a delightful lively mix of jazz, soul, folk and rock 'n' roll.  ‘Con Brio’ is a musical term meaning ‘with spirit and vigour’ delightfully evident in their performances.

Saturday Morning Music 5th October  2024 - The Cheer Up Mollys

A fantstic debut at the UGT for this amazing group who kept everyone's toes tapping with a brilliant morning of tunes.  Sync issue now fixed but consequently there are a few black frames at points - hope it doesn't spoil your enjoyment too much. We're working on our camera settings!

Saturday Morning Music 21st September  2024 - Joseph Peters + Cadence Purl

Another apology this week! We had problems with the networked cameras and our internet connection which means that our live stream ended prematurely and had a lot of vision problems. The below is what we could salvage. Apologies to Joseph and especially to Cadence Purl who's fantastic show was not recorded at all.

Saturday Morning Music 7th September  2024 - Derry Green

Saturday Morning Music August 24th 2024 - Terry & Becky + Take Cover

Really enjoy this morning with a fantastic selection of musicians and singers from the popular White Horse Folk Club performing classic folk and 60s + numbers.  Great to see these guys back at the UGT.

Stuart Bligh + Benita Johnson 9th November 2024

The amazing Stuart Bligh Vocalist/guitarist and bluesman will be playing an acoustic set this Saturday at the UGT.  In the second session we welcome travelling singer songwriter Benita Johnson, vocals and acoustic guitar – ‘it’s not folk, it’s not rock or pop, its Benita Johnson doing her thing and it’s beautiful.’

Astounding young blues guitarist Neil Grove returns with a solo set for a session of mesmerising pure blues delight.  In the second session we welcome Al Neville.  A writer of songs to make you laugh and cry... not necessarily at the same time. He'll mix these with some songs you might know from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Saturday Morning Music 14th September  2024 - The Jam Busters

Apologies for the problems with the sound today - a faulty network cable that was only 2 months old and designed to be 'rugged' ..hmmm.  Also we had a new camera setup with 2 IP network cameras and controller to make better shot transitions. Sync issue now fixed :)
